Rebecca Q. Masinsin, C.P.A.
FACCOC
President's Award

Rebecca (Becky) Q. Masinsin, CPA is a professional
who is revered by so many! She has helped
countless business owners see their business
grow from start-up to success! The entrepreneurial
spirit is definitely in Becky's genes. Her
grandma started her weaving business in
her 20's and was considered to be truly
ahead of her time. It was her grandma who
inspired her to hone her inherent financial
and business sense. Her parents were also
involved in a very successful weaving and
handicraft business in Ilocos Sur and Manila.
As early as age 15, she was involved in
the management of their export business
and record keeping. Instead of a career
in nursing as she had originally desired,
she heeded the advise of her father to pursue
a business administration degree. He convinced
her that self-employed people and in business
for them to have a better potential of making
money work for them, saving, and investing
rather than them working hard for their
money.
In 1961, she graduated from the University
of the Philippines and became a C.P.A. A
few years later, she married Gabby Masinsin-her
wonderful and supportive husband-and together,
they lovingly reared and educated their
six children whoa re now highly successful
individuals themselves. Juggling motherhood
and a career quite well, she has also served
as a Senior Tax Field Auditor with the Internal
Revenue Service in the Philippines until
she migrated to the United States in the
late 70's. She passed the California CPA
examination and built her practice in Orange
County. She presently practices as a CPA
in Fullerton and renders consulting services
to other CPA firms in the area. She has
over 25 years of experience in public accounting
in the fields of taxation, auditing, accounting,
and business consulting.
For the past nine years now, Becky has been
volunteering her time to the Filipino American
Chamber of Commerce of Orange County (FACCOC)
where she is currently a member of the Board
of Directors as well as Treasurer. She also
participates in the Rosary Group of the
Fullerton/Buena Park Chapter. She also has
affiliations with other organizations including
the AICPA, ABAOC, and U.P. Alumni Association.
What makes Becky even more special is her
incredibly generous heart! Her favorite
quote is from the Bible and inspired by
her mother: "Seek ye first the kingdom
of God and His righteousness, and all these
things shall be added unto you." People
who know Becky will attest that she is a
blessing in their lives! She is known to
readily extend a helping hand to budding
entrepreneurs and start-up professionals
by generously and patiently providing them
with valuable tips on how to set up their
finances in an efficient and organized manner
and taking them to the next level of success!
When not working, Becky pursues her passions:
traveling, cooking, gardening, orchid growing,
gemstone collecting, grand parenting and
taking those wonderful trips to Las Vegas
and Pechanga!
