As our
honored Lifetime Achievement Awardee tonight,
Dr. Co-Casquejo is an extraordinarily accomplished
member of our community. She is currently
board certified with the American Board
of Pediatrics, a Fellow with the American
Academy of Pedicatrics, a member of the
Orange County Pediatric Society and an Associate
Clinical Professor, Volunteer Faculty with
the department of Pediatrics of the University
of California, Irvine. Since 1995 and presently,
she has been associated with the Private
Group Practice in Pediatrics Orange &
Irvine Doctors of Kids and teens. And he
was the sole proprietor for her pediatrics
practice from 1981 to 1995.
Dr. Co-Casquejo received her Doctorate of
Medicine and Surgery from the prestigious
University of San Tomas in Manila, Philippines.
Additionally she had her residency and fellowship
in pediatrics at Wayne State University
Children's Hospital of Michigan in Detroit
Michigan.
Her outstanding contributions to the community
are numerous. In 1979 she started Headstart
Programming for Underprivileged Children,
Orange County. She also helped to co-found
Lestonnac Free Clinic in Orange with Sister
Marie Therese and she served on the Charter
Board of Directors the FilAm Chamber of
Commerce in 1993 with Nolan Alejandro Reality.
She served as the secretary and then president
of FACCOC from 1993-1995. She held the position
of Director of Religious Enrichment for
the Federation Filipino Rosary Group, Orange
County from 2002-2004 and was on the charter
Board of Directors for the Orange Catholic
Foundation. She has been a member of the
Holy Rosary Philippine Chamber Choral from
1994 onto the present and has served as
a Parishioner at St. Nicholas Catholic Church
in Laguna Woods since 1979. She has also
been a Pastoral Parish Council member from
2001-2004 and a Eucharist Minister to the
Elder, Sick and Homebound from 2003-present.
She is a Benefactor for Gawad Kalinga, ANCOP
an organization which build homes and communities
in the most poverty stricken areas of the
Philippines. She served on the board of
directors for the Filipino Pastoral Ministry,
Orange County and also on the board of directors
for Women Doctors of Orange County.
In addition to her many accomplishments
she is happily married to Ernesto D. Casquejo,
P.E., retired Structural Engineer. She has
three children (Lourdes Ernelita, Luz Marie,
and Vincent Ernest) and four grandchildren
(Kiana, Marinna, Sofia, and Benjamin).
Tonight we wish to honor, celebrate and
thank her for her many life's accomplishments
and the many ways she has helped improve
the lives of others.
